IC5070. The Pelican Nebula
Emission Nebula in Cygnus
 
Placed close to Deneb it is separated from the North American Nebula by a dark "molecular cloud". Other dark clouds help to define the eye and a bright front of ionized gas sugest the shape of the head and the nec.
Distance to Earth: 2000 light years.
Visual magnitude: 8.
