| This
picture shows part of the nebula known as "The Elephant Trunk", that is
a concentration of interestellar gas and dust on the open cluster
IC1396, located in the Cepheus constellation. This star nursery
contains a lot of very young stars. It also contains dark areas known
as molecular clouds. Distance to Earth: 2500 light years. |
