NGC2237. The Rosette Nebula
Diffuse nebula in Monoceros
 
It is a prety large nebular complex that can be seen in the constellation of Monoceros, surrounding the open cluster NGC2244 and it is a collection of emission and dark  nebulas  and Bok globules.

The cluster is a group of half a dozen stars that can be seen with naked eye in the winter milky way, but the nebula is difficult to see with a telescope due to its wide span. The stars of the cluster  formed about four million years ago from the nebular material and their stellar winds are clearing a hole in the nebula center, insulated by a layer of dust and hot gas. Ultraviolet light from the hot cluster stars causes the surrounding nebula to glow in red (excited hidrogen).

The Rosette Nebula spans about 100 light-years across and lies about 5000 light-years away from the Earth.
